EQI Scholarships

 

​​​​​​​​​​​Education Queensland International (EQI) is pleased to announce a number of scholarships on offer for 2017.  

Overview

EQI Scholarships are available to exemplary students embarking on an international school experience. The study experience whilst in a Queensland Government School is a very positive, rewarding and life-changing experience for young people. In collaboration with EQI, recipients will have the opportunity to share their experiences through testimonials, networking and social media, as an EQI international student ambassador.  

EQI scholarships cover a portion of tuition fees for international students applying to join the EQI International Student Program (ISP).

Round Three – Four agent open scholarships open from 1 August 2016 to 23:59hrs Brisbane time, Saturday 15 October 2016 for students commencing in 2017. 

Eligible nationalities: International students from any nationality for Round 3 applications. ​

​Eligible school programs

Scholarships are offered for: 

• Prima​ry School – Prep to Year 6 
• Junior and Senior High School (Graduate component) 
• Junior and Senior High School (Study Abroad component) 
• Regional Study Abroad 
• EQI Queensland Academies for Creative Industries (QACI) Scholarship

Scholarships are also open for specific Special Programs including sport, maths, science and arts. For more information please contact an EQI authorised agent in your country.​

Categories

EQI uses authorised recruitment representatives in the countries listed. EQI scholarships are only available when applications are made through an approved education agent. In the Agent category there are two types of scholarships:  

• Agent (open) - information can be obtained about the EQI scholarships from any EQI-approved education agentassisting students from your country. 

EQI agent open scholarships are offered to international students from any nationality.

• Agent (closed) - information can only be obtained from the selected EQI approved agents. More scholarships and programs are available to more countries. 

Length of study

Students must study at least one year to be eligible to apply for an agent open EQI scholarship.

EQI scholarship value

Each bursary is valued up to AUD$5,000. 

The scholarships subsidy will cover one term or more of the ISP tuition.  

Who can apply?

EQI agent open scholarships are open to new international student applications. Current EQI international students are not eligible to apply for a scholarship in their current program or extend their studies in the same program.

Where can I study?

Schools offered by EQI depend on school and program availability, subject and excellence program offerings, and location to suit the student’s study abroad experience.

Eligibility

Standard requirements

1. International students are required to meet EQI’s English and Academic Entry Requirements 
2. International students must meet the Student Visa requirements subclass 500
3. International students must apply through one of EQI’s approved education agents from their country
4. Scholarship recipients will be required to cover the remaining cost of studies including tuition fees for the subsequent terms/years, homestay, Overseas Students Health Cover, course materials, visa application and relevant fees, flights and living costs.

The following additional requirements may apply to some of the scholarship programs in certain countries:

1. a short proposal or example work, in English, demonstrating the student’s ability in sharing their experience through testimonials and social media ‘blogs’ as an EQI international student ambassador 
2. a history of higher education achievement 
3. a letter of recommendation from a school academic staff member and 
4. an evidence of high achievement in the relevant field when applying for an excellence program. 

Rules

To be eligible, EQI scholarship applicants must submit all requirements. Incomplete applications will not be considered or processed. EQI full agent open scholarship application rules and checklists are available from anyEQI-approved education agent assisting students from your country.
